Weather station on the Skydroid home screen – a new feature in the Extreme One system
We are introducing one of the most practical new features in the history of the Extreme One system: a full weather station built directly into the home screen of the Skydroid console. From now on, every new Skydroid console released under the Extreme One brand shows a complete set of weather data right after you switch it on – with no extra apps to install, no login and no ads.
What you see the moment you switch the console on
📊 Atmospheric pressure chart – 12 hours back and 12 hours ahead
At the heart of the new station is a clear pressure chart that instantly shows which way the weather is heading at your venue:
- Solid blue line – the pressure history that has already happened.
- Dashed orange line – the forecast for the coming hours.
- The vertical “Pressure now” marker – the current moment clearly highlighted on the timeline.
- Values in hPa on the vertical axis and exact hours below the chart.
📈 Pressure trend at a glance
- 🟢 Green arrow up – pressure is rising (settling weather, fish usually feed less).
- 🔴 Red arrow down – pressure is dropping (a front is coming, the fish are active! 🐟).
🌡️ A full weather bar in the header
- Your location (wherever you happen to be).
- ☀ Sunrise and 🌙 sunset for the venue.
- 🌬️ Wind – direction (NW, SE, etc.) and speed in m/s.
- 💧 Air humidity.
- ☔ Rainfall forecast for the next 12 hours.
- 🌡️ Current temperature.
- Current pressure together with the change delta.
Everything works automatically
We wanted the weather station to require absolutely no configuration from you. You turn the console on – and you simply have the weather:
- ✅ Location detected automatically (WiFi / GSM) – without activating GPS and without removing the battery.
- ✅ Data refreshes every 30 minutes, without touching the screen.
- ✅ No internet? The console tells you straight away, and once the connection is back the data loads immediately.
- ✅ Works on the G16, G20 and G30 consoles – all the ones we supply.
- ✅ Local language, local cities, local time.
Why does atmospheric pressure matter in carp fishing?
Atmospheric pressure is one of the factors that most strongly affect carp activity. A sharp drop in pressure announcing an incoming front very often coincides with intensified feeding – the classic “window” when it pays to be on the water with your bait well spread out. High, stable pressure after a high-pressure system has passed, on the other hand, usually means tougher, sluggish bites.
Because the pressure chart is in front of your eyes every time you pick up the console, you decide when to head out with bait based on a real trend rather than a hunch. This is exactly the kind of information you used to have to check in a separate app – now it is part of your boat.
And this is just the beginning
The weather station is the first step. We are working on an even deeper integration with the Skydroid system, so that the carp console is no longer just a controller, but a complete fishing command centre – combining navigation, the fish finder, the camera and environmental data in one place. More coming soon. 🚀
