3D Lake in Extreme One – System Test at Łowisko Borowa in Borzęcin
3D Lake in practice, straight from the water. Marcin tested the Extreme One system with the latest fixes at Łowisko Borowa in Borzęcin: the bait boat autopilot, the sonar and boat control in a single app.
What 3D Lake looks like in use
The workflow is short: you open the app, set a point on the map, the boat goes there on its own, and the bait boat sonar shows the bottom in real time. The route and the readings come together into a three-dimensional model of the lake, which is built while you are on the water, not only after you get back to the bank.
The most important thing about a test like this is that the video was recorded at a real fishery, not in a workshop. Waves, wind, changing depth and the actual range between the boat and the bank put the equipment to the test in a different way than a workbench does.
What you can see in the video
- setting a point and the boat travelling there on its own
- the sonar view in the same app, without switching devices
- the 3D bottom model being built during the run
- work on a commercial fishery, in normal angling conditions
Why videos from our users matter to us
Videos recorded by anglers show things you do not see during the manufacturer’s own tests: a different way of driving the boat, a different fishery, different habits. Some of the fixes in the app come about precisely after videos like this and the comments under them.

Equipment used in the video
The system in this setup is the EXTREME-PILOT autopilot, the EXTREME-MASTER SONAR S300 sonar and the Skydroid G20 controller with the Extreme One app. You will find more videos on our YouTube channel.
What a 3D bottom model gives you in practice
A flat depth map shows numbers and colours. A 3D model shows shape, and that is a completely different kind of information when you are choosing a spot.
- drop-offs appear as walls rather than as tightly packed colour lines
- gullies and holes can be judged for width and steepness
- shallows are easier to link with what you see on the surface
- the baiting route can be run along the structure instead of across it
On a water you do not know, a model like this cuts the reconnaissance from several sessions down to one. On a water you know well, it lets you check what seemed obvious, because spots considered flat often turn out to be quite varied.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need internet access on the water to use 3D Lake?
The model is built locally, on the device, from the data coming in from the sonar. A connection is useful for updates and for sharing maps, but not for the scanning itself.
How long does it take to scan an average fishery?
It depends mainly on the surface area and how dense the runs are. A small lake can be covered reasonably well in a single session; on larger waters it is worth spreading the work over several trips and scanning section by section.
Does a video have to be professional to appear on the channel?
No. The most valuable footage shows the equipment working normally on the water, recorded on a phone. What counts is what you can see on the screen and how the boat behaves in practice.
From the scan to a decision on the bank
A bottom model on its own does not catch anything. Its value appears at the moment you turn it into a decision: where to place the rig, which way to run the baiting, how far from the drop-off to keep the bait. That is why, in practice, the best approach is the opposite order to the one curiosity about the equipment suggests.
First a quick survey run and a general picture of the lake, then a choice of two or three promising areas, and only on those a dense scan. Scanning a whole large fishery at maximum detail takes a lot of time, and most of that data will not change where you finally place your rig anyway.
The system shown in the video is a standard Extreme One setup with 3D Lake. If you have updated the app recently, also take a look at the new screen themes in version 2.1.112. We publish more footage from the water on our YouTube channel.
